Introductions - Part 1

Introduction of members of The Consumer Advisory Committee
==============================================

What the CAC Means to me (in my own words) By Thomas L Hopkins

I think the CAC is wonderful because it is a vital committee that gives the consumers a voice in an agency that provides their services.

Consumers can get knowledge and information through the exchange of ideas with other committees and the board. CAC members are given the opportunity to participate in outreach and keep the Regional Center grounded by reminding them of people they serve.

Lindsay Platz's Introduction:

My name is Lindsay Platz. I started coming to the Consumer Advisory Committee meetings as a guest in January 2011. I was asked to become a committee member and was voted in by the members of the CAC. I am proud to represent Auburn People First and all other consumers in our area. For the last seven months now I have been fighting to maintain my personal rights and freedom because my family has been trying to have me conserved. I have learned a lot about self advocacy that I would like to be able to share with others. I will be writing my story and how it is unfolding in future issues of this blog.

What Alta CAC Means to Me
By Tammy Eudy

I wanted to be on the CAC to help myself and others have a voice to get our needs met. CAC encourages me to be stronger and speak out when I need to. As a CAC member I am proud to play a part in making positive changes for the organization. I am very dedicated to making sure that the organization's mission statements fits the needs of the people they serve.
